Invest in Cornwall

Cornwall Development Company is looking for a Compliance & Administration Manager and a 0.5 Administrator to join the European Regional Development Fund-funded Invest in Cornwall team.

Compliance & Administration Manager

Starting £21,146 per year

Full-time

Based in Pool, Cornwall

Fixed-term to 30 September 2021

Appointment in the role is subject to the confirmation of funding for the project

Reporting to the Director of Trade & Investment, you will support the Invest in Cornwall team with the delivery of a comprehensive and effective compliance and administrative function, contributing to the overall success of the project.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • managing claims and audit requirements for Invest in Cornwall
  • creating and updating impeccable finance and expenses records for the project
  • being the first point of contact for enquiries from existing & potential investors, business support organisations, the private sector and intermediaries
  • assisting in procurement and tendering processes
  • designing and implementing procedures to assist in reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • ensuring compliance with EU regulations regarding publicity and communications (including the use of the ERDF logo)
  • maintaining investor files and support Invest in Cornwall by monitoring the impact of these investments
  • ensuring ERDF cross-cutting themes of Equality & Diversity and Sustainability are delivered and promoted
  • supervisory responsibility for one part-time member of administration staff

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated self-starter who is culturally sensitive and a team player. We need someone who is a well-developed communicator and has good networking skills.

Vital skills and experience include:

  • a track record of excellence in previous similar roles, with excellent organisational and administrative planning skills
  • knowledge of European programmes
  • an understanding of the demands of administrating an ERDF project
  • experience of record management and auditing
  • an ability to work as part of a small team
  • being IT literate and sufficient in Microsoft Office
  • have the ability to focus on and deliver to project and contract outcomes
  • an ability to problem solve and show initiative

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • good knowledge of Cornwall and it's economic, business and social context
  • degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline
  • data analysis/interpretation experience

The role is full-time and some flexible working outside of normal office hours may be required.

Reporting to the Compliance and Administration Manager, you will support the Invest in Cornwall team with the delivery of a comprehensive and effective compliance and administrative function, contributing to the overall success of the project.
 
The main responsibilities for this role include:
  • fulfilling a broad remit of administrative requirements for the Invest in Cornwall programme
  • maintaining records for monthly and quarterly reporting
  • being ready to respond to initial potential investor requests on behalf of Invest in Cornwall
  • ensuring compliance with EU regulations regarding publicity and communications (including the use of the ERDF logo)
  • maintaining investor files and support Invest in Cornwall by evidencing team involvement and job outcomes
  • ensuring ERDF cross-cutting themes of Equality & Diversity and Sustainability are delivered and promoted
