Agri-tech Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Project

Agri-tech Cornwall is a £10m ERDF initiative to drive research, development and innovation in the agricultural sector, in order to deliver a vibrant and sustainable industry in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. 

The project is led by Duchy College Rural Business School in partnership with the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, Rothamsted Research and Cornwall Development Company (CDC). The project is also supported by Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly.

CDC is looking to recruit the following role, which will contribute towards delivering this exciting project to private sector businesses.

Agri-tech Cornwall Innovation Grant Scheme Support Officer

Salary £24,484 per annum

37 hours per week

Redruth, Cornwall 

Fixed-term to 31 March 2021 (subject to confirmation of funding) 

The Innovation Grant Support Officer will provide high level administrative support and project coordination to the Agri-tech Cornwall Business Engagement Managers (x2).  The development and implementation of effective administrative systems, processes and procedures in line with business needs is a key focus of the role as is the checking, completion, handling and processing of associated paperwork, ensuring compliance with audit and funding requirements.  Particular responsibility will be required for promoting the project through related web content, publicity materials, social media activity and event organisation.

The role will also involve being the initial point of contact to respond to enquiries from businesses, other business support organisations and private sector intermediaries, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a confident telephone manner. Additional responsibility for assisting businesses with applications to the Innovation Grant may also be offered to the right candidate.

This will be a busy and varied role so the ideal candidate should be flexible, able to multitask and to prioritise workloads accordingly.
