The Low Carbon Team works closely with the public, private and third sectors to facilitate the delivery of a low carbon economy for Cornwall.

Facilitating the delivery of a low carbon economy for Cornwall

The Low Carbon Team works closely with partners to deliver a number of low carbon focused projects, including:

Clear About Carbon

A path finding project funded by ESF. The project aims to identify and mainstream skills needed in both public and private sector supply chains to become carbon literate and therefore enabled to effectively engage with the low carbon economy.

With the support of the Business Leaders for Low Carbon Group, the Team has developed a low carbon fact sheet and some low carbon business exemplar case studies.  You can download these below:

RESGen

An FP7 project which aims to create realistic grounds and practical tools to support the development of sustainable energy in Cornwall, and facilitate closer links between the private, public and research sectors.

The project produced the Cornwall Carbon Navigator, a website giving an overview of low carbon projects and research in Cornwall. This can be viewed here.

Regions for Sustainable Change

An Interreg IVC funded project, which aims to provide a range of useful tools and methodologies to support regions in developing the necessary evidence base and appropriate policies to shape the future low carbon economy.

The project also produced the 2007 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, which was the UK’s first area based ‘community-wide’ GHG report when it was originally commissioned in 2009.   This has been updated to 2008 and can be downloaded below:

The Low Carbon Team also supports the development of Cornwall Development Company’s sustainability commitments detailed within its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
