Broadband for our future
The Superfast Cornwall team at the Cornwall Development Company is working to continue to bring superfast broadband to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Welcome to Superfast Cornwall
Superfast broadband is here, making Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly some of the best connected places in the world. Fibre broadband is transforming the way people work and play; boosting the economy, enabling businesses to work more effectively and bringing online entertainment to life. Funded by the EU, BT and Cornwall Council, and managed by Cornwall Development Company, Superfast Cornwall has built a fibre based network that now covers 95% of premises, with nearly 90% able to connect with superfast speeds of over 24Mbps.

Public Consultation - August 2016
In June 2016, an Open Market Review (OMR) was carried out to establish current and planned (next 3 years) commercial coverage of broadband services in Cornwall by existing, and any prospective, broadband infrastructure providers.
The information gathered through this process was used to define proposed Intervention Areas that could be targeted by future public funding in order to further extend better broadband coverage across Cornwall.
A one-month public consultation was then undertaken between 2 August - 2 September 2016 to seek comment from all interested stakeholders (including the public, businesses, internet service providers and broadband infrastructure operators) on the proposed intervention area for the "Superfast 2" procurement. Information on the changes made to the Intervention Areas following the public consultation is provided in the documents below.
