Cornwall Development Company is now recruiting for a creative and innovative Communications Specialist to join the team to help ensure that our message is heard by those who need our support. 

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Skills Hub is funded by the European Social Fund. 

Communications Specialist

Starting salary £15,550 (FTE £31,100) per annum

Based in Pool, Redruth

18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

Fixed term contract to 30 November 2019 

The Communications Specialist will work with the Growth & Skills Communications Manager to design and deliver innovative and market-leading promotion of the Skills Hub, achieving the highest possible impact across a variety of platforms. 

 The Communications Specialist will:

  • Develop and manage content for the Skills Access Hub website
  • Implement social media activity to raise the consciousness of our offering amongst the Cornish business population 
  • Contribute to the organisation of promotional events 
  • Build relationships, network and positively represent the work of the Skills Hub
  • Develop and publish a range of video case studies articulating the work of the Skills Access Hub

COMMUNITY LED LOCAL DEVELOPMENT (CLLD) 

Cornwall Development Company is currently recruiting for CLLD, an ERDF/ESF funded programme that will deliver investment to the most deprived areas of Cornwall.

CLLD is about local people getting involved to take the lead on activity that provides sustainable economic benefits in areas of Cornwall that have some real problems such as social exclusion or very low levels of employment.  The projects that will be supported will create jobs, develop skills and achieve sustainable economic growth.

It is a new and different way of investing in local areas that focusses on the particular opportunities and challenges that are present for a particular community. 

CLLD Marketing Coordinator

Starting salary £7,766 per annum (FTE £23,945)

12 hours per week (0.3 FTE) 

Fixed-term contract to 30 September 2021

Based in Pool, Redruth

The CLLD Marketing Coordinator will support the CLLD Programme Manager by designing and delivering a communications strategy that maximises the reach and take-up of the CLLD Programme. The post holder will help to ensure effective engagement of partners and stakeholders through the creative and innovative use of a range of communications techniques.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Designing the overall Programme marketing and communications strategy
  • Creating the brand personality and brand essence
  • Generating relevant and appealing content for the website, PR, print and social media using 
  • Liaising with digital and print media to promote case studies, good news stories and significant news announcements.

0.5 Communication Assistant

Starting salary £9,173.80 per annum (FTE £18,347.60)

Part-time (18.5 hours)

Based in Pool, Redruth 

Fixed-term until 30 September 2021

You will support the Communications Manager to deliver a communications strategy that maximises the reach and take-up of the Growth Hub service. You will use a range of communications techniques to effectively engage partners, stakeholders and users including email, website and social media marketing.

Other tasks will include:

  • contributing to and supporting the generation of appealing content 
  • reviewing and editing content on Growth Hub website 
  • supporting the organisation of Growth Hub events 
  • liaising with external suppliers on the design and production of marketing materials
