Tevi is a new European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) supported project, led by the University of Exeter, in partnership with Cornwall Council, Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Cornwall Development Company, which will focus on promoting increased business productivity for SMEs in Cornwall through investment in environmental growth. 

Cornwall Development Company will deliver the capital fund component of the Tevi project and is currently recruiting for the following positions.

Capital Fund Business Engagement Officer 

Salary £34,831 per annum

37 hours per week

Based in South Wheal Crofty, Pool, Redruth

Fixed-term to 31 March 2020

The postholder will engage directly with SMEs in order to bring forward applications for investment that will improve their productivity, efficiency and innovation within the context of environmental growth.

The post holder will possess significant experience of working directly with businesses and will understand compliance with public sector funding rules.  The postholder will also have demonstrable knowledge and experience of environmental growth and its potential to improve productivity and growth within businesses.

Tevi Administrator

Salary £10,573 per annum (pro rata to £21,146)

18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

Fixed-term to 31 March 2020

The postholder will support the Business Engagement Officer in ensuring the administration of the Capital Fund is compliant with the funding rules.  In addition, the postholder will provide a professional service to businesses and partners in order to support bringing forward applications for investment in SMEs which will improve their productivity, efficiency and innovation within the context of environmental growth.

The post holder will demonstrate good experience of setting up and using compliant administrative systems to meet user needs, and an understanding of the demands of administering an ERDF project would be an advantage. Excellent organisational, administrative and planning skills should also be demonstrated.

Cornwall Development Company is now recruiting for a Skills Connector to join the Skills Hub team. If you can help employers identify their skills gaps and you have the knowledge to point them in the direction of the right, cost-effective training we would love to hear from you.

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Skills Access Hub is funded by the European Social Fund. 

Skills Connector

Starting salary £31,100 per annum
Mobile covering East & North Cornwall (Skills Hub based in Pool, Redruth)
37 hours per week

Our Skills Connectors are be the principal point of contact for employers accessing the Skills Access Hub, undertaking training needs analyses (TNAs) and making appropriate referrals to a range of local and national skills initiatives and training providers. They also:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive relationships with employer sectors and their representatives.
  • Support the development of emerging sectors and promote the collaboration and networking of employers
  • Co-ordinate skills interventions with employers and support the monitoring of their development/growth journey over an extended period of time
  • Represent the Skills Hub at events, seminars and workshops in order to raise awareness of its objectives

Community Led Local Development (CLLD)

Cornwall Development Company is currently recruiting to deliver CLLD, an ERDF/ESF funded programme that will deliver investment to the most deprived areas of Cornwall.
CLLD is about local people getting involved to take the lead on activity that provides sustainable economic benefits in areas of Cornwall that have some real problems such as social exclusion or very low levels of employment.  The projects that will be supported will create jobs, develop skills and achieve sustainable economic growth.
It is a new and different way of investing in local areas that focusses on the particular opportunities and challenges that are present for a particular community. 

CLLD Programme Manager

Starting salary £44,777
Fixed-term contract to 30 September 2021
The Programme Manager will champion the CLLD programme to enhance recognition of achievement across the four CLLD areas. Driving the implementation and delivery of the programme across Cornwall, the post holder will also ensure effective and compliant delivery of the programme funds, and sound financial/programme management. Displaying an understanding of the causes, impacts and means of addressing deprivation will be a key aspect of this role.

AeroSpace Cornwall

Cornwall Development Company is recruiting for the exciting AeroSpace Cornwall project which aims to create highly skilled jobs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and to launch innovative, new products into the marketplace. 
Funded by the European Region Development Fund (ERDF), the project will deliver a programme of Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) support to the aerospace/space sectors, and aims to attract high-growth businesses to complement the already strong space/aerospace cluster in the area.

Project Administration Officer

Starting salary £12,687 (pro-rata £21,146) per annum
22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE, though up to 0.8 FTE may be considered)
Fixed-term basis to 30 November 2019
Based in Pool, Redruth
We are seeking an excellent project administrator to assist the AeroSpace Cornwall team in effective management and delivery of the AeroSpace Cornwall project. The Project Administration Officer will provide first class administrative, secretarial and communications support to the team and project, with responsibilities that include:
  • Developing administrative processes that support the team and the delivery of the project
  • Maintaining relationships with customers, clients, contractors and key stakeholders in the Aerospace and Space sectors
  • Ensuring a high quality service is delivered to non-SME investors
  • Monitoring expenditure and budgets, and ensuring that all documentation, files and data are maintained in accordance with EU and Company requirements
  • Ensuring that the ERDF cross cutting themes of Equality & Diversity and Sustainability are delivered and promoted, acting as the responsible officer.
